PRODUCT TYPE:
Predatory Beetle (Lindorus lophanthae)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
ELIMINATE ALL LIFE STAGES OF ARMORED AND SOFT SCALE
Lindorus lophanthae predatory beetles provide comprehensive, chemical-free control of scale insects at all life stages. Unlike parasitoid species that target specific stages, Lindorus controls scale insect eggs, nymphs, and adults simultaneously—eliminating scales at every development stage for complete scale eradication.
HOW THIS PEST CONTROL WORKS
Lindorus lophanthae predatory beetles are deployed to actively hunt and consume scale insects on infested plants. The defining characteristic of Lindorus control is its ability to feed on ALL life stages of scale pests. Lindorus adults maintain extended feeding throughout their approximately 2-month lifespan.
OPTIMAL CONDITIONS
Live ladybugs remain active and effective across a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels. They work best in temperatures above 50°F and perform optimally at 60-85°F. Adequate moisture and food availability (pest populations) keep ladybugs active and feeding.
RELEASE RATES:
Preventative/Light: 3-5 Beetles per plant, or 50 beetles per tree, or 1,000-2,000 per acre.
Temperature Range: 50-104°F
RELEASE INSTRUCTIONS:
- TIME YOUR RELEASE: Early morning, evening, or when grow lights are off. Avoid midday heat and direct sunlight.
- PREPARE PLANTS: Lightly mist foliage before release. Moisture helps predators remain in your garden.
- DISTRIBUTE BEETLES: Locate plants with 2nd instar of pest Scale Insects. Disperse insects onto infested area by sprinkling bottle contents directly onto plants. Leave open container in place for 24 hours to allow any remaining insects to be introduced.
- MULTIPLE RELEASES: For best results, release beetles 2-3 times throughout the growing season, spaced 2-3 weeks apart. This maintains continuous pest control as each population hunts and reproduces.
COMBINED APPROACH:
Lindorus + Aphytis = Predation & Parasitization
Comprehensive approach for complete scale elimination with their different feeding behaviors.
STORAGE:
For best results, introduce immediately upon receipt. If storage is necessary, store at 50-60°F for no longer than 18 hours. Store out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
