PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
BROAD SPECTRUM APHID CONTROL
Aphidoletes aphidimyza predatory midges provide versatile, chemical-free control of over 60 different aphid species. This broad-spectrum predator eliminates the need for species identification.

HOW THIS PEST CONTROL WORKS
Aphidoletes aphidimyza consume aphids throughout their lifecycle. Unlike parasitoids that lay eggs in host aphids, Aphidoletes actively feed on aphids at all life stages. A single larva can consume up to 25 aphids daily, providing rapid aphid population suppression.

RELEASE RATES:
1 insects per 3 sq. ft., weekly, 2-3 times
1,000-4,000 insects per acre, weekly, 1-3 times
Temperature Range: 50-86°F

Do not introduce in combination with Green Lacewings or Amblyseius swirskii since the lacewing larvae will eat the Aphidoletes larvae, and A. swirskii may eat the midge eggs.

RELEASE INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. TIME YOUR RELEASE: Early morning, evening, or when grow lights are off. Avoid midday heat and direct sunlight.
  2. PREPARE PLANTS: Lightly mist foliage before release to improve habitat.
  3. APPLICATION: Most of the Aphidoletes will still be in their pupal stage when delivered. Gently disperse any emerged adults onto infested plants. Place remaining pupae in small piles onto moist soil near aphid infestations. Leave open container on its side, in place for 72 hours to allow any remaining predators to be introduced
  4. MONITOR: Monitor infested areas. If you're still seeing active aphids after one week, release a second introduction.

STICKY TRAPS:
Remove any yellow sticky traps before release.

STORAGE:
For best results, introduce immediately upon receipt. If storage is necessary, store at 39-46°F for no longer than 48 hours. Store out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
