Roman Chamomile is a low, hardy perennial that's been used as a fragrant ground cover for centuries. Its foliage knits together into a soft, aromatic mat that releases a sweet apple-like scent whenever it's stepped on or brushed against. Left alone, it forms a carpet of dainty white-and-yellow flowers; mowed regularly, it becomes a soft living lawn you could nap on. Either way, it's an easy, forgiving perennial that comes back year after year.

How to grow it
These seeds are tiny, so mix them with a bit of sand before sowing to help spread them evenly. Sprinkle over the soil surface, work in lightly, and tamp down firmly. Chamomile needs good seed-to-soil contact but shouldn't be buried deep.
Expect sprouts in 7–14 days at 65–75°F, with flowers arriving 50–90 days after sowing. Space plants about 6 inches apart, and water moderately, keeping the soil evenly moist while seedlings establish.
