Aphid Triple Mix | Aphelinus abdominalis, Aphidius colemani & Aphidius ervi
This three-way mix gives you the broadest aphid coverage available, combining complementary parasitoids that target different aphid sizes and species.
Target Pests
Small-Bodied Aphids: Green peach, melon/cotton, black bean, and other small aphid species.
Large-Bodied Aphids: Potato, foxglove, pea, and other large aphid species.

Product Description
Aphid mummies from all three species, each containing a developing parasitoid ready to emerge and continue the cycle. A. colemani controls smaller-bodied aphids, A. ervi controls larger-bodied aphids, and A. abdominalis rounds out the mix. Unlike many parasitoids, A. abdominalis adults also eat aphids rather than just parasitizing them.
Introduction Rates
1-5 insects per 10 sq. ft., weekly, for 2-3 weeks
Temperature range: 50-86°F
Rates are general guidelines. Actual needs vary by pest species, plant, and infestation level. Monitor both pests and released insects to gauge success.
Application
Gently disperse the aphid mummies onto infested plants (not directly on soil). Leave the open container on its side at the release site for 24 hours so remaining insects can exit, and let the contents stay dry for a few days.
Pro Tips
- If you use yellow sticky traps, remove them for a few days after release.
- Watch for black and golden/brown aphid mummies. A clean round hole means an adult parasitoid has emerged.
- Release frequency may need adjusting based on plant type, pest load, temperature, and other predator/parasite populations present.
