Product Description
Known as the western predatory mite, this tiny translucent mite is built for tough conditions. It thrives in high temperatures and low humidity where many other predatory mites struggle. It stays active year-round in mild climates and overwinters naturally in colder ones, making it a reliable choice for warm, arid growing environments.
Introduction Rates
Indoors: 1,000 mites per 500 sq. ft., bi-weekly, for 2–3 applications (roughly 1 predator per 5 pest mites).
Outdoors: 2,000–5,000 mites per acre, bi-weekly, for 2–3 applications.
Tolerates 40–80% relative humidity.
Rates are general guidelines. Actual needs vary by pest species, plant, and infestation level. Monitor both pests and released insects to gauge success.
Application
- Introduce in the morning, evening, or when grow lights are off.
- Knock down any webbing and lightly mist leaves first.
- Sprinkle onto infested plants (or use hanging boxes to concentrate and reduce mess).
- Leave the container in place for 72 hours, and repeat bi-weekly until under control.
Slow-release sachets: Hang on plants you want to protect, out of direct sunlight, and replace every 2–4 weeks for ongoing prevention. Don't let sachets dry out completely. Prolonged dampness can also cause degradation or mold.
Pro Tip
- Best introduced immediately upon receipt. If needed, store up to 24 hours at 45–55°F, out of direct sunlight. Never freeze.
