Medium Soil Pest Garden Pack - Beneficial Nematodes with G390 Hose-End Sprayer

15 million Triple Blend Nematodes + Chapin G390 Hose-End Sprayer

Stop soil pests at the root, spray-ready in minutes.

Soil pests do their damage out of sight, in the soil where larvae and grubs feed before you ever see an adult. This pack gives you everything you need to treat that zone: 15 million Triple Blend beneficial nematodes and a Chapin G390 hose-end sprayer to spread them across your lawn and garden quickly. It uses no harsh chemicals and leaves no residue.

What's Included

  • 15 million beneficial nematodes, Triple Blend Mix: Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (Hb), Steinernema carpocapsae (Sc), and Steinernema feltiae (Sf) in an easy-release powder. The three species work the soil from the surface down to the root zone.
  • Chapin G390 Economy Hose-End Sprayer: The G390 attaches to any standard garden hose and mixes its contents with water automatically as you spray, with no pre-mixing required. The 32 oz tank delivers up to 20 gallons of finished coverage.

    Specs: 32 oz tank | 5.4" L × 4.2" W × 8.3" H | 2½" mouth opening | Poly construction

How It Works

Triple Blend Mix combines three nematode species that work at different depths in the soil, from the surface down into the root zone. These microscopic soil-dwellers seek out pest larvae and grubs and stop them before they mature into a bigger problem. The nematodes come in an easy-dissolving powder that mixes straight into your sprayer.

About the Chapin G390 Hose-End Sprayer

The brass adjustable cone nozzle ranges from a fine mist to a coarse stream, and a removable fan-spray nozzle switches you to wide-area coverage. A 12" curved brass extension wand on a 42" braided reinforced hose gives you reach without straining. The metal shut-off locks on for continuous spraying, and a built-in pressure relief valve lets you release pressure safely when you're done.

The tank has a wide mouth for easy filling and cleanup, an anti-clog filter, and built-in anti-siphon protection against backflow. It's made of chemical-resistant, rustproof polyethylene and built in the USA with global materials.

Application Rates

Apply seasonally for prevention. For active infestations, apply weekly to monthly and adjust as needed.

  • Preventative/light infestation: 5 million per 1,250 sq. ft. The full pack covers up to 3,750 sq. ft.
  • Moderate/heavy infestation: 5 million per 250 sq. ft. The full pack covers up to 750 sq. ft.

These are general starting points. Actual application should be adjusted based on pest species, plant type, and infestation severity. Monitor pest activity to gauge results.

When to Apply

Treat early. Nematodes work best before an infestation takes hold. Apply seasonally for prevention, or weekly to monthly for an active infestation.

Outdoors, apply in the morning, in the evening, or on a cloudy day, and keep the nematodes out of direct sunlight. Indoors, any time works.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare the soil. Water the area before applying so the soil is moist. In hot weather, water generously.
  2. Prepare the sprayer. Your G390 arrives new and ready to use. Keep it for beneficial nematodes only, so no chemical residue ever comes in contact with them.
  3. Divide the pack. Split the nematodes into three equal parts of about 5 million each.
  4. Mix and spray. Fill the sprayer jar with water to the 15-gallon mark, mix in one part, and spray until empty.
  5. Repeat two more times to use the full pack.
  6. Water again. Water the treated area right after applying, generously in hot weather. Keep the soil moist for 2 weeks afterward.

Storage & Handling

  • Use the nematodes right away for best results. If you need to wait, store them at 36–45°F, away from light, for up to 30 days. Don't freeze them.
  • Once they're mixed with water, use them within 6 hours.
  • Avoid harsh pesticides. Even some "gentle" products can harm nematodes.

FAQs

Are nematodes safe for kids, pets, and edible plants?
Yes. Beneficial nematodes target soil-dwelling pest larvae and are safe around people, pets, and vegetable gardens. They leave no residue on plants or produce.

My package arrived warm and the ice pack was melted. Are the nematodes still good?
Yes, that's normal. The nematodes ship in a bubble mailer with an ice pack that usually melts in transit, and they're built to handle the trip. Put the unopened package in the refrigerator until you're ready to apply.

How often should I apply?
It depends on the pest. For prevention, a seasonal application works well. Pests that keep reinvading, such as fleas, fungus gnats, ants, and flies, need monthly treatment to break the cycle. Pests with one generation per season, like grubs, are best treated once, timed to when the larvae are active.

Do I have to use the sprayer?
No. The G390 makes it faster to cover a lawn or large garden, but the nematodes work just as well from a watering can or an irrigation system. For indoor plants or small containers, a watering can is the easier choice.

Can I use the G390 for other products afterward?
It works with most liquid concentrates, but it's better to have a dedicated sprayer for beneficial nematodes. Residues from fertilizers and other lawn and garden treatments can harm nematodes.

Can I use nematodes alongside other pest control products?
Beneficial nematodes are sensitive to extreme changes of environment, including gentle pesticides. If you've recently applied a pesticide, check its label for compatibility with beneficial nematodes before treating. You'll get the best results when nematodes are your main soil treatment.

When is the best time of year to apply?
Any time the soil is warm enough for the nematodes to be active, which for most gardens is spring through fall. Spring treatments catch pests coming out of winter, and fall treatments reduce next year's population before pests go dormant.

What if I can't use all the nematodes at once?
Store unused nematodes in the refrigerator at 36–45°F, away from light, for up to 30 days, and don't freeze them. Once you've mixed them with water, use the solution as soon as possible within 2 hours.

Can I use the G390 for other products afterward?
It works with most liquid concentrates, but we recommend keeping it dedicated to beneficial nematodes. Your sprayer arrives brand new, and keeping it that way means no residue from pesticides, herbicides, or some fertilizers can harm future applications.
